Happy Halloween everyone! With just enough time to spare, the pumpkin got carved last night. We kind of forgot about it this week until Evan said something the other day. Last night was the first free night we had, and with Halloween a day away it was time to cut into the pumpkin. We decided to just carve one of our pumpkins since Halloween would be over in a day. Remember Evan's huge pumpkin he won at the school picnic? That's the one we carved. Actually, I should say Greg carved. I really wasn't into cleaning out pumpkin guts and carving at 8:30pm last night.
Evan decided he wanted a spider pumpkin so that's what Greg carved. I just so happened to have a spider pattern in my pumpkin carving book so that worked out good! The kids were super excited and were hovering around daddy as he started hacking into the pumpkin. Of course there wasn't much they could do since daddy was using sharp knives and a drill, but they had fun watching.
"Look at daddy cleaning out the pumpkin guts!"
Em and Evan cheesing while daddy pokes the spider pattern into the pumpkin.
The finished product
The cool spider pumpkin all lit up!
