Another cookout

After our big block party Sunday, we thought "Why not have another cookout today?" This time it was a lot smaller though. We had some burgers, pasta salad, watermelon, and cake left from the party so we had our our friends Rich, Liana, and Veronica (they live across the street from us) over tonight for dinner. We couldn't eat all this stuff up so we figured we might as well invite some people over to share it all! I had Greg run out earlier too and get some sweet corn from a farm not to far from here to go along with it. It was delicious sweet corn! I can't believe it's the first time we've gotten corn from there this summer! We ate dinner and then chatted a bit. I also taught Liana how to play Bunco so hopefully she can make it one of these times and join in the fun! Speaking of Bunco, I'm hosting for this month and it's coming up this Friday already so more to come on that.

The guys headed out to the garage after a bit to do bike "stuff" or so we thought. A little while later Liana sees Greg and Rich going down the street. This is what we saw! Greg on his bike pulling Rich on the skateboard.

There they go.....

...here they come!

Boys will be boys, right? Apparently they had been out on the bike and skateboard for quite some time because they had gone all throughout the neighborhood getting lots of attention. At one point, one neighbor saw them go by and she had to come out to watch for them to come back by and see what they were doing. I guess it was the only entertainment in the neighborhood! Of course they had to both ride the skateboard so here's Rich pulling Greg and Evan racing them on his bike!

When we went out to see what they were doing, Em had to try out Daddy's bike for a minute!

The mosquitoes were eating us alive out side so the girls decided we were heading back in. Em & Veronica grabbed some books and popped a squat on Liana. Here's the three of them having some book time. They were doing a look and find book, and Em did a really great job finding the pictures.

Then Evan came in and wanted to join in the reading. The chair wasn't big enough so they moved to the couch. Here's Liana reading another book to all the kids!

It was nice to have the Marr family over for dinner. We got most of the leftovers eaten up, and we got to chat and catch up! Thanks Liana and Veronica for reading to the kids! Thanks Rich and Greg for the entertainment of the evening! We should really try to have dinner with them more often. We always have a good time and this was the first time of the summer we all got together for dinner!
